Winding Tools
In order to knit from a skein of yarn, it is necessary to wind it into a ball. Using a swift and ball winder enables you to wind a neat, centre pull ball that won’t bounce around while you knit. A swift can be used by itself, to hold the yarn and stop it getting tangled up as you wind a ball by hand, or you can use both tools together for a lovely winding experience.
Quickly and easily wind balls of yarn from skeins or hanks (in conjunction with a yarn swift). Lightweight and compact, it winds yarn smoothly into cakes that can be used from the middle or the outside. The ball winder clamps to a table or worktop and is operated by turning the handle. A yarn guide ensures even tension.
