Natural Yarn for Knitting & Crochet
The right yarn can make all the difference to a knitting or crochet project. We’ve selected some of our favourite natural-fibre hand knitting yarns, from UK and European producers that we know and trust. These are all yarns that we’ve loved working with ourselves, and we are delighted to share them with you.
DK Yarn
DK is short for ‘double knit’. Twice the thickness of 4-ply, DK yarn is perfect for lots of knit and crochet projects including cozy jumpers, blankets and a wide range of accessories such as snug hats, scarves and gloves.
4 Ply & Sock Yarn
Sometimes referred to as fingering weight, 4-ply yarn is perfect for lightweight shawls, warmer weather garments and socks. It can also be held double and knit up at a DK gauge.
Aran Weight Yarn
Ideal for cozy sweaters, warm accessories and homewares. Aran weight yarn is sometimes also called worsted or 10-ply and is thicker than DK weight yarn. We use it for all our beginner classes and kits because it knits up nice and quickly.
Chunky & Super Chunky Knitting Yarn
Chunky and super chunky knitting yarn is perfect for outdoor sweaters, oversized cardigans and instantly gratifying scarves and hats that you can knit in an afternoon.
